Illustrations for "Exploring the Geology of Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah" by structural geologist, Dr. Ron Harris. The first shows the canyon during the Pleistocene Age, or the last ice age, with a cutaway detail of the toe of the glacier and its moraine. The second uses a bulldozer and tow truck to simplify and visually explain the geologic structural history of the canyon, from shallow sea, to mountain range, to volcanic hot spot, and to it's current stage as a mountain range fronted by a valley.
